Saturday is the day that is ALIVE in Istanbul, it is peak social buzz. Everyone is out and about. So we need to be there for that, right?

So, what if you arrived on Friday night and we meet Saturday morning and start early(ish) and shoot until sunset?

I have an awesome itinerary that takes us across the best photo spots in the city! The brides are out in full force on a Saturday (can't guarantee them though obvs like when we go nun-hunting in Rome!)

And, then as Sunday is more chilled in the city (although chilled has its own meaning in Istanbul!), we just hang out for the morning (I know somewhere colourful to go *wink)

Sound good?

The Istanbul Mini Weekender is £350 (workshop, itinerary + restaurant reservations only) 

If you're thinking YES!

Here's what to do:

1. Check flights from your nearest airport to arrive Friday night. Allow an hour or so to get into the city by Metro (from IST airport, there is another airport: SAW - but the logistics may be a bit trickier as you have to cross the water). Taxis at night will be faster but obvs more expensive.

2. Check accommodation within say 10-20 minutes on foot from Galata Tower (NOTE: the area around Galata Tower is very hilly - flatter is the area in and around Eminönü / Sultanahmet), although it's easy to get around by bus, tram or metro. (You can find anything from £25+ for a night or less if you don't mind hostels).

3. Get excited, and book right now, because why not?! But only if you love street photography, amazing cities for street photography, and bad jokes. 

Awesome, can't wait to see you in one of the best cities in the world for street photography (that also makes the BEST lentil soup!)

HOW TO GET THERE

Option 1 Arriving at Istanbul Airport (IST) to Karaköy / Travel time: ~55–70 mins / Transfers: 1 (M11 to M2 at Gayrettepe) / Walking: ~15 mins total transit walking, including a steep 10-minute downhill walk from Şişhane station to central Karaköy.

Option 2 Arriving at Istanbul Airport (IST) to Eminönü / Sultanahmet / Travel time: ~65–80 mins / Transfers: 2 (M11 to M2 at Gayrettepe, then M2 to T1 Tram at Vezneciler) / Walking: ~12 mins total station navigating, including an outdoor street-level transfer walk at Vezneciler.

Option 3 Arriving at Sabiha Gökçen (SAW - Asian side) to Sultanahmet / Eminönü / Travel time: ~75–90 mins / Transfers: 2 (M4 to Marmaray at Ayrılık Çeşmesi, then Marmaray to T1 Tram at Sirkeci) / Walking: ~20 mins total station navigating, including a deep underground escalator climb up to the street-level tram at Sirkeci.
